I like most Americans was disappointed to see the transpirations in Iran's election. I also believe, again like most Americans, that the election wasn't conducted fairly. I also realize that the relations between Iran and the U.S. have been troubled to say the least throughout history. So, question is, what does President Obama do about it? Realizing that we have limited influence, he chose to have somewhat of a "hands off" approach granting Iranian people respect while still supporting the concepts of basic human rights to be heard. In my view, this perfect and smart. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe this was going to be "controversial".
Then I hear Republican Senators John McCain and Mike Pence stating publicly that once again, Obama got it wrong! Republicans disagreeing with Obama?!?! That can't be! Even after the proven disaster of the last 8 years of 'Cowboy Politics' abroad and the lasting damage that we are trying to correct now, they want President Obama to follow in the Bush/Cheney footsteps. Appearing "strong" and "respectLESS" of everyone else is the way we have to go(at least according to McCain and Pence). Do they believe our memory is THAT short where we can't remember what has happened during the Bush Administration? There comes a time where you have to reflect, review, and recognize when you've screwed up. I suggest these guys look past their ideologies and look at the situation logically.
So, for those keeping score, strike another tally in the column of how Republicans have no clue how to conduct fiscal and foreign policy. Republicans keep talking..because with stuff this blatent, you'll be talking your way out of even more seats in 2010.
